About us
At the time of writing this (2024) we are both in our early seventies, and have been married for quite a long time! We live in Surrey, have two grown-up children and three grandchildren.
We both love nature, especially birds: we are birdwatchers, but not 'twitchers' (who chase after rarities.) However, birds are not our only interest and we also love flowers, butterflies, dragonflies etc. We are both photographers, though John tends to be more 'technical'.
Before Covid-19 struck, our recent main holidays tended to be in the Alps or Dolomites. We spent notable times in Chamonix (France), Lech and Ischgl (Austria) and La Villa (South Tyrol, Italy).
Since then, we have not been comfortable with going abroad, so as we are still able to drive reasonable distances, we have been to Pembrokeshire, The Lake District, and Scotland - where we stayed on the Isle of Mull twice (and fell in love with it!)
We are both active in our local churches, leading services at the URC - with John helping with the music and A/V most weeks and preaching about once a month; we are also involved with the Baptist Church in a few roles.
