The two interests shown on this web site are photography and music, but these are not my only ones. Some years ago I retired from my job as a software developer and system manager, and I still have an interest in computers, and make extensive use of some. Although I developed software for Microsoft Windows for many years, and also Unix/Linux, I now favour Apple Mac for most of my work - but still use Windows (10 and 11) and Linux (primarily Ubuntu.)

My degree, at the University of Southampton, was in electronics, and I still tinker with circuits. I have built a few gadgets using microcontrollers (ESP8266 and ESP32) and SoCs (system on a chip) such as Raspberry Pi.

Other interests include DIY and gardening, though these are becoming more tricky as I get older! I used to service my own cars, but they have become too complex for me now.

Chris and I go on holiday a few times each year - for the last few years this has been in the UK, travelling by car. I enjoy driving, especially in Scotland: give me a single track road on the Isle of Mull any day, rather than the hated M25!

The most important thing to me is my faith: I decided to follow Jesus Christ when I was 14 and He has helped and directed my life ever since. Almost all my music is associated with my faith, and I serve in a couple of local churches - Baptist and URC (United Reformed Church.) I am involved in singing, playing, leading services, preaching and helping with the sound board (mixing desk) and streaming services.
